I am immensely pleased with our CSA box this week:
I was craving fruit, so I am so excited for these nectarines.
This is the first week we’ve gotten bell peppers and they look amazing! We still only have one growing in our garden, but in a few weeks they will be big and beautiful like these:
I can’t wait to use these zucchini – maybe in some fritters:
Produce was meant for photographing.
Maybe some potato salad with these guys, or maybe I’ll use them in some kind of baked goods… I saw a great potato roll recipe that I liked, or maybe a loaf of potato bread. Something summery… it’s hard to think of stuff for potatoes sometimes without defaulting to dishes that are better in winter.
And this week instead of sour (bing) cherries, we got Ranier cherries! Not too many, though – probably half a pound. I have a feeling these will be snacks and won’t make it to any actual cooking 🙂
Tonight we’re making a Greek pita sandwich and homemade hummus with some of these veggies. We’ll see what other combinations the week brings!
