Cool Trick: How to Make Perfectly Flat Bacon

Why might you need perfectly flat bacon, you ask? Because it’s cool. And, well, you might want to cover it in chocolate. You might just prefer to eat it that way. And if you’re photographing it, flatter is definitely better.

Even if it’s something just to spruce up your brunch party, making flat bacon is an easy but fun trick.

So here’s what you do:

Start by setting the ol’ hotbox (as AB would say) to 400, and lay your bacon out on a nonstick sheet on a baking sheet.

Next, put another baking sheet on top of them. Then put another cookie sheet on top of that, and press down so they are stacked and the bacon is smooshed flat. Space between the two of them is going to lead to nonflat bacon.

Bake just like that for 15-20 minutes, depending on how you like your bacon. Kind of a neat trick, huh?
