You guys, it is FINALLY SPRING! !! !!! Was that enough exclamation marks?

We have been spending so much time outside, and I love it. We have hikes planned and have done so much in our yard and garden. My baby radishes are getting big enough to eat. I’m days away from my first rose blooming. My hydrangeas are HUGE. I can’t wait for them to explode into blooms.

Now since we’ve done all that work, I am ready to show off our yard with some outdoor celebrations. I haven’t scheduled any yet, but I am planning the drinks. Because duh.

The Cocktail Diaries: The Classic Daiquiri


  • 2 oz. rum (experiment here! Use your favorite)
  • 1 oz. fresh lime juice
  • 1 oz. simple syrup
  • 2 dashes orange bitters (optional)


  1. Add all ingredients to a shaker full of ice, and shake until very cold - about 10-15 seconds. Strain into a Nick and Nora, coupe or cocktail glass.
