Sometimes the best cocktails are the simplest.

And in the summer, sometimes the best cocktails are low proof, long sippers and just plain refreshing. It’s one of the reasons we are drinking lots of Americanos lately.

The slightly bitter bubbly drink is just perfect for the summer heat. And they are so easy to put together… even when you’re getting home from the most difficult of days, you can mix yourself up one of these with ease. And then, you can drink it slowly, since it’s actually 8 or so ounces rather than a cocktail’s usual 4 or so.

Got a bottle of Campari on hand? How about sweet vermouth? Those two items, in my opinion, should always be on your bar shelf. And club soda should always be in your fridge. You never know when the moment is going to call for a cocktail.
