Fun Cocktails for a Portland Holiday Brunch – Orange Spice Mimosa and Carob Affogato
A couple of lovely brunch drinks to celebrate the holiday season!
One thing I’ve learned about Portland since we’ve moved here is that the winters are really rough… but the beautiful summers make it all worthwhile. Today is July 4 and it is 70 without a cloud in the sky. It will probably be in the mid-80s by afternoon.
You will need:
5-9 tea bags, depending on how strong you like your tea
A large glass container
I use good old plain Lipton… it’s what my mom and my grandma have used for decades. It’s also worth noting that I don’t really do sweetened tea, but it would be easy to make this sweetened!
Fill up your glass vessel and put the tea bags in so they are in the water, but use the stopper/lid to keep them from falling all the way in. Place in a sunny area outside. In just a couple of hours your tea will be steeped and delicious.
I find it’s best to err on the side of strong tea – adding ice will water it down to begin with, and if you need to water it further you can just add a little water.
