Our CSA box this week

The post you are about to view is not for the faint of heart. If you’re hungry, well… you’re about to get hungrier.

Today our CSA box was on our doorstep when I got home from work, and it is full of some seriously good eats. Behold:

From back left to right front, we have some gorgeous arugula, kale, butter lettuce, cantaloupe, sour cherries, carrots, two zucchini, sweet corn, a leek, two tomatoes, nectarines, plums and fava beans.

I have some big dreams involving this…

… and these. Namely involving my lunch tomorrow and some cheese and nuts.

Anyone have some good butter lettuce-specific recipe ideas?

Who wants a caprese salad this week? (Raises hand.) I am so glad we got these tomatoes. We have so many in the garden that are big enough to eat… and totally green. Go tomatoes, go! In the meantime, I will feast on the CSA ones.

And more sweet corn. So far we’ve grilled some and we’ve put some on a pizza. Mark Bittman has a pretty good corn salad from that 101 Salads article a few years back that I printed and was/am a huge fan of. I should find that thing.

In the meantime, I’m going to have a snack.

Right, like I”m going to only eat one cherry…
