These turkey sloppy joes are a great examples of Dave just winging it and things turning out just fine. I wish I could boast the same ability!

These were delicious, a little spicy and a great easy dinner for us. If you’ve got some ground meat on hand, you probably have all the rest of what you need to make these. And yes, we used sandwich bread. Oh well!

Here’s what you need:

About 1/2 lb. ground turkey
1-2 chopped Roma tomatoes
1/3 to 1/2 diced medium white/yellow onion
2 cloves garlic, diced
2 tbsp. ketchup
1 tbsp. barbecue sauce of your choice (may I recommend Curley’s?)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire
1 tsp. Thai red pepper paste
Shake of hot sauce
Heavy sprinkle of red pepper flakes
Sandwich bread or hamburger buns, toasted

Start by prepping your veggies and browning the turkey. Add the veggies in as they are prepped (do the onion first, then garlic, then tomatoes).

When everything is cooked through, add the sauce ingredients into the pan and toss to coat.  Fill your toasty bread with the mixture and consume.
