According to the site BestPlaces, Portland property prices are way above the national average. Whilst this may not be a shock to some, it still highlights just how difficult it can be when trying to get onto the property ladder within the PDX area.

The stats show that the median Portland, OR property costs $537,200 which is considerably more compared to the median of $338,100 which is the typical North American property price. However, there is some good news for those in Portland.

This is because Portland isn’t quite the most expensive place in the US. In comparison, a median LA home costs $912,500. So, if you thought you had it bad in Portland then think again…things could always be more expensive!

Still, if you’re young in the Portland area then here’s some bad news. Over the past 10 years, PDX house prices have risen over 111%, whilst over 43% of PDX houses are also rented. So, if you’re looking to get on the property ladder then good luck.
