Albuquerque locals FUMING after Applebees accused of ‘scamming customers’
An Applebees store in Lomas, Albuquerque has recently been called out after a resident claimed that they had been “cutting their patties in half and calling them double meat.” This was accompanied by a photo of the patties which revealed a suspiciously low amount of meat that was covered with melted cheese.
In fairness to Applebees, you can’t really tell if this was the case, or whether it was just a disgruntled customer. Based on the image provided, it’s not the most meat ever – but if it was spread out then it may be too big for a single patty which may prove them innocent. Ultimately, this seems like a personal interpretation rather than some kind of Applebees conspiracy. So, you could argue that the annoyed customer was being picky. Nonetheless, you can judge for yourself with the image below.
Irrespective of whether the meat was actually halved or not, it seems that the masses weren’t huge fans of the chain eatery either, with one local writing, “Applebees is garbage and the world will be a tastier place when the chain finally dies. The worst meal I’ve ever had in a restaurant was at Applebee’s on Menaul. Literally, the only reason we ate there is because I had a friend driving through ABQ and it is right next to the Tesla supercharger.”
Having said this, it doesn’t look like the chain is going away any time soon either – as it has almost 2000 stores nationwide. Perhaps this says more about US eating culture and people’s standards than it says about what Applebees has to offer.
I would have to agreed with the person in the article. The food in general at Applebees is not very good. I have try to go back there over the years and have found the same thing, there food is not very good, so I don’t go there anymore.
I have always like Applebees, what I have realized it’s the employees that make the difference. The last few times I went food was cold, they didn’t even bother to season the salmon. Margarita sat at bar for 10min. When I told bar attendant she just rolled her eyes and took it back. This Applebees was near I40 and coors. Mgr tried to make it right but timing was all off. Appetizer remade after cold food came out. It could have been a good meal if the employees would just do their job right. Bad thing is they think as consumers we just have to take it like that. That’s what I’m tired of. Teach some customer service!
Applebee’s has lost its ability to be the top restaurant that it used to be from when it first opened it’s like going to McDonald’s and getting everything microwaved it has really gone down
