For those wondering, a ‘Starter Pack’ is a meme that shows the stereotypes that are commonly associated with a person or area. In this case, one was recently created for the city of Asheville, and honestly it’s quite spot on.

This shows the numerous cliches associated with the city and has quite a cynical outlook on how life is in Asheville. At the same time, this should be taken with a large pinch of salt, as it’s not to be taken too seriously. Nonetheless, as they say – there’s often truth in humor. The Starter Pack can be seen below.

The Starter Pack begins with cramped, overpriced housing that is barely affordable, and then moves on to the Asheville homelessness crisis. It then shows a bear (who doesn’t love the local bear population), and then various IPAs and local craft beers. It then shows some kind of skater hipster woman (we’re not too sure on that one), before ending with a cyclist. Obviously, Asheville is overrun with lots of people who take cycling too seriously.

Speaking on social media, residents had this to say: “You forgot an emotional support dog, a Prius and a kayak.” and “A 1 bedroom apartment for only $1,425?
