Baltimore favorite Duda’s Tavern CLOSED due to Rodent Infestation & Unsanitary Conditions
This week saw a number of restaurants fall victim to the Baltimore City Health Department which carried out a number of health and safety inspections around the city. One of these casualties was Duda’s Tavern which has been a firm favorite within the Baltimore community for a while now.
Firstly, it should be noted that this is only a temporary closure – so hopefully Duda’s can return at some point. Secondly, if failed the inspection due to a number of issues which are as follows: Rodent infestation, insect infestation, and general unsanitary conditions in the basement. As you can imagine, these are not what you want as a restaurant owner or a prospective customer of said establishment.
As seen in the above image, the Google page for Duda’s Tavern has also been updated. This correctly says “Temporarily closed” next to the images of the tavern. Now, before people start making assumptions about Duda’s – there may be a less sinister explanation. Speaking on social media, one insider claims that the entire closure was based on the floor of the basement. In fairness, the basement is referenced in the closure document.
Apparently, as the basement floor was not fully concrete, it poses the risk of vermin. Because of this, the closure was made. Hopefully, this can be easily rectified with a bit of concrete. Of course, this is based on the rumor being true. Having said this, it looks as though Duda’s will at least be closed for the foreseeable future.
Even though the situation needs to be rectified as soon as possible if they start nothing liquor or food and said basement the health department had no business going down there but it’s always good to get things taken care of before it gets out of hand that being said I will look upset tavern and give them a try when they reopen.
