Beautiful Great Pyrenees Dog free for adoption due to heartbreaking reason

May 3, 2023 by 8 Comments

Found on the Portland Craigslist, this one-year-old, male Labrador/Great Pyrenees cross was sadly put up for adoption. According to the owner, he is also house-trained and knows basic commands whilst also coming with all shots and vaccines up to date.

As seen by the look in his eyes, he is a good boy with striking features and lots of character. Unfortunately though, the owner also wrote “He’s a good boy but apartment life isn’t for him. He’s great with people but needs work with other dogs” whilst also mentioning that he would be suited to a place with a yard.

Often, dog owners underestimate the level of care and dedication needed to keep dogs, especially larger ones who are energetic and need constant walks as well as mental and physical stimulation. So, if you are in Portland then maybe you could spare it in your heart to adopt this good boy? Or, even if you knew of someone interested then that could also work.

For those wondering, the dog is located in the Multnomah area of the city and is free to pick up without any mention of re-homing fees. Just remember if you are interested, that adopting a dog is a big commitment and shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Has this guy been around cats and other dogs? How is he with small children or around bikes, skate boards and small motorized cars? Is he reactive to anything or anyone?

I am so sorry that you are having to part with your sweet pal. I have had a great Pyrenees and labs I bet the mix makes a great dog. I am wondering if he may still be available? I currently have a border collie that needs a friend. She has sooo much energy and loves to play ball.
Please let me know. Thank you
