Bus and Skyline network map released

Yesterday, Hawaiians were treated to a nice update regarding the Skyline project. This showed the available routes to take on the Skyline train, as well as the new bus service that was accompanying it. Here, it should the various routes and stoppages – and honestly, it’s pretty detailed and shows just where you can go on the route.

Since its inception, the Skyline train has gone over $100 million over budget and cost billions to make. Despite this, it looks like most people are now looking beyond this and focusing on the positives – which means a state of the art train that the island has so desperately needed for quite some time. As seen in the image below, this represents the final step in the Skyline becoming a reality as it’s now open for public use.

The Skyline has a top speed of 55 mph, and an average speed of 30 mph meaning that from start to finish, the total journey takes 22 minutes which really isn’t bad when you think about it. For those wondering, your UH card will work on the train – so don’t worry, it does seem that the Hawaii city planners really have thought of it all with this one.

With this in mind, Hawaii can finally celebrate this new project and appreciate a more efficient form of public transport.
