Clever hack means OPB users can get a FREE Oregon Parks pass
Also known as KOPB-FM, OPB is a well known radio station in the Portland area of Oregon. Unlike most commercial radio stations these days, it still maintains a local feel and puts out quality content. So, if you pay for its services already, then you may be in luck. This is because one Portland local found a way to use their OPB membership to get a free pass for the Oregon parks. In other words, if you’re already paying for your OPB subscription, then you can now get access to the Oregon parks for free. Here’s how it works.
Firstly, you need to be registered with the OPB which costs $5 per month. Obviously, if you don’t use their radio to begin with then this isn’t really a hack and isn’t worth pursuing. However, if you do then it’s basically a free park pass. You can sign up here.
After you’ve signed up for one year, you can then get a free parks pass which is the equivalent of $30 for the year, or $5 as a one-off fee. Put differently, it’s a nice bonus if you’re already paying for your radio subscription.
If this is you, then it means you can now drive to the parks of Mt Hood whilst listening to OPB in your car, without having to pay any extra to go and see the local sights. It goes without saying that Oregon has some very beautiful spots as well, so with this in mind, it could well be worth the money!
I am a sustaining member and wondering how I obtain an OR parks pass.
