Customers bemoan Oahu UPS new opening hours – “How am I meant to get anything?!”
Today, an image went viral which showed the Oahu UPS office’s new opening times. The office in question is now open from 8:30 AM to 12 PM on weekdays (while being closed on weekends). This effectively means that anyone wishing to visit the customer center who does a 9-5 job can no longer attend due to such a small window of availability.
According to the local that took the photo, UPS is shortstaffed in the area which also means that deliveries are also currently delayed. Combined with the customer center’s opening times, you can see why Hawaiians aren’t particularly happy with this situation. The harsh reality though, is that Hawaii doesn’t have too many reliable alternatives to work with anyway.
This image comes just days after rumors of a looming UPS strike across the USA (including Hawaii) which would make local deliveries even slower. Having said this, not everyone took this news seriously, with one resident quipping: “Like everyone else, they have their UPS and downs.”
All dad jokes aside, you can see how this is irritating for locals. Sadly, it looks like it may get worse before it gets any better. With this in mind, if you are waiting on a UPS parcel then you may have be extra patient over the next few days (or weeks) and unfortunately, there’s not too much anyone can do about it.
