When traveling by plane, the last thing you want is delays. Unfortunately, this was exactly what happened to thousands of unlucky SFO customers went through yesterday. As seen in the image below, the lines literally went out of sight and were apparently moving at a snail’s pace.

According to the photographer, the lines took well over 90 minutes to clear which says it all. Imagine traveling and being tired, only to slowly walk for over 90 minutes. This isn’t anyone’s idea of fun. Nonetheless, this occurrence seems to happen like clockwork at this time of year without fail.

Having said this, if you have the money then Global Entry is certainly a worthy consideration. This also gets you TSA pre-check but sadly this is out of reach for many travelers. However, for everyone else – this is what to expect.

One San Francisco resident even said this which sums up the summer SFO experience perfectly: “Planes are all full, often delayed, airport personnel are more grumpy, children screaming around every corner, craziness! Just have to expect delays, and lines, and more lines, and airlines trying to rip you off for everything they can think of..”

With this said, if you’re thinking about getting away for the summer, then you’ve probably picked the worst time possible. Sadly, this is the new reality for a lot of families and travelers.
