Locals mock placement of awful yellow lines in Allegheny County
An image recently went viral for highlighting what is probably the worst use of yellow lines in the city of Pittsburgh. This photo was taken on Campbell Road in West Deer Twp and you guessed it, the lines are meant to divide the lanes.
In other words, this route is meant to be able to house cars on either side of the road. In reality, you could probably fit a bike in the one lane – but definitely not a car (without the car entering the other lane.) Honestly, we’re not sure how these lines were painted so badly but surely this also encourages road accidents as well due to their deceiving nature.
Having said this, not everyone was as critical as we are. Some even claimed that these may be temporary lines but if you’re familiar with Pittsburgh roads then you’ll have possibly seen similar sights before.
Speaking online, one local said, “Not bad for that county. Check out Bates Street heading up into Oakland from 2nd avenue. I think the crew was drinking at Big Jim’s before they did that.” – No wonder PBOT has a dodgy reputation.
Overall, it will be interesting to see if these lines are rectified. If they are temporary then it still makes you wonder why it happened. However, if they’re permanent then this poses even more questions.
