Dog Owners Warned of Poison in Lincoln Park and Old Town
Chicago dog owners have been warned about dog poison in the Lincoln Park and Old Town areas of the city. This is after a letter was released by the Americana Towers condominium which read: “Dog owners and dog walkers alert – Please be aware that there is something poisonous around our building that is killing dogs if it is ingested. Protect your dog and don’t allow anything to be eaten from our neighborhood.”
Right now, it is not known if this dog poison is being left maliciously, but it certainly doesn’t look good, and irrespective of the source, if you do own a dog in this area then make sure you keep an eye out when walking.
This comes after a few years back whereby someone was caught dropping poison in dog bowls outside businesses in Andersonville. At the time, a local business owner filmed this incident which highlights just how deviant some people are. Here, a couple of feral cats that died that raised suspicion.
And although we shouldn’t speculate – it does seem likely that something similar is happening again, rather than this being an act of nature. On a similar note, if your dog happens to fall sick then it’s probably best to get them looked at sooner rather than later and be extra vigilant in these testing times.
