Eggnog Cocktail
Just a quick post today – but it’s an important one. It’s time for you to be a responsible adult and make this year’s eggnog. Yep, in November. Yes, from raw eggs (which may kill you!!! according to the FDA).
Eggnog should not come out of a carton. And if it does, it’s basically just milk, cream and eggs and probably vanilla flavoring that has been cooked just enough to kill any bacteria… which I’m not sure why you would want to drink on its own (I don’t really drink milk, can you tell?). That vanilla flavoring? It’s supposed to come from bourbon!
That’s not to say that eating raw eggs is not taking a risk. It is a risk. You can minimize your risk by making sure to use pasteurized eggs and allowing 3 weeks at least for this to age.
Now is the time to get going on this project.
And don’t think for a second that you’re going to use low fat, non-fat, whatever nonsense for this. This is not the time and place. If you’re worried about the calories, make a smaller batch and drink smaller servings.
Now hop to it! You can thank me when you enjoy this while putting up your Christmas tree.
