EPIC Lightning Storm photographed over Austin skyline
Often, extreme heat is followed by extreme storms. This is exactly what happened in Austin last night, after several days of a mega heatwave. Most locals will have welcomed a storm with open arms too, seeing as it brought a change of scenery (and temperature) to a dried up city. What followed was one of the most impressive lightning storm photographs to have ever been snapped over the Austin city center skyline.
This picture was taken from the Long Center and captured the mood perfectly. Despite being a summer’s night, not a soul was in sight due to eh insane weather. As seen, there were multiple lightning bolts that complimented the dark skyline perfectly. Similarly, the lights of the skyscrapers also clashed perfectly with the moody weather. In fact, you could go as far to argue that the above picture looked like something straight out of a Batman comic!
It wasn’t just visually unique weather either. Before the storm, Austin residents also experienced a strong hailstorm which also highlighted just how extreme the weather changed in such a short space of time. Based on this, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see snow or rainbows tomorrow! Now, to all those who claim that Austin has pretty boring weather, you couldn’t be further wrong. On a serious note though, the weather is set to calm down a little over the coming week.
