Hawaiians rejoice as Skyline feature added to Google Maps
It’s only been a few days since the Honolulu Skyline transport train opened – but residents are already pleased to see how quickly it’s been added to the local Google Maps feature. As seen in the screenshot below – it shows the option to use the Skyline, as opposed to previously walking. Since opening, the Skyline has been a hit with fans praising the speedy 22 minute journey time and affordability, at $3 for a one-way ticket. Honestly, you can’t ask for much more than that.
Note: The Skyline feature, as well as a visual representation of its journey. Clearly, Google doesn’t wait around when updating its features.
However, according to some, not everyone could access the new features on Google. To bypass this, you may need to set your date into the future, which then resets Google Maps into putting the Skyline as an available mode of transport.
Arguably, Hawaii has needed something like this for years – so it’s no wonder that locals are currently celebrating. On its opening day, there were also huge crowds who excitedly shuttled on to see what the fuss was about. On a final note, it’s also probably the most pristine you’ll ever see it ever again, so if you can – jump on board and see what it’s got to offer!
