While most posters can be accused of being pretty mundane, we have to admit that this recently spotted poster on Greenmount and 25th made us chuckle. Here, it read: “We buy birthday cake – Any condition.” In fact, it seems as though this isn’t the only weird poster in the area, and a Baltimore prankster may be on the loose!

According to locals, other posters included “We buy cursed treasures” and another said, “We buy used gum.” Overall, you have to respect this person’s dedication to their craft as it takes a bit of effort to think of these slogans, print them out, and then go out of your way to post them around the city.

Seeing the funny side of things, one resident wrote online: “No phone number? How am I going to sell my cake?” while another quipped, “God bless this weird city.” In fairness, you have to laugh. As seen in the above image, this poster made our day on what was an otherwise rainy, miserable afternoon.

Its absurdity is made even more comical by the serious tone of the poster behind it which aggressively advertises CCTV in the area. This shows that even with grey skies and miserable surroundings, sometimes Baltimore can be truly beautiful and its spirit and quirkiness is often unmatched by other US cities.
