A hilarious San Antonio-based meme recently went on social media and had residents in stitches. This image showed a man sweating over which button to press. One button says ‘Dutch Bros’ whilst the other says ‘Unaffordable housing’. The man in question is labeled as a ‘San Antonio developer’. While this meme is funny, it’s also humorous due to its reality. In short, it shows what San Antonio life has become in 2023 – a mixture of overly-expensive properties for sale, mixed with Dutch Bros coffee houses on every corner.

However, according to locals – there was one missing ingredient, and everyone agreed that this should have also been included. Specifically, we’re talking about car washes which also seem to have invaded the city in recent years.

Basically, had someone told you ten years back that San Antonio would be dominated by a mixture of coffee houses, expensive property, and car washes, you’d think they were crazy. Nonetheless, here we are. Similarly, others claimed that storage units were also common within the area.

One local even added, “Why do SA apartment builders only build 3-story apartment complexes? Build vertically, you dorks! Let’s get some Tokyo-style apartment buildings down here.”

In all honesty, we don’t know why this solution hasn’t been considered. Irrespective, it looks like for the time being at least, SA will continue to live up to the meme, for better or for worse!
