Houstonians RAGE at H-Town Comic Con ‘scam’ which never happened
Over the weekend, an event called ‘H-Town Comic Con’ was meant to take place in Houston. This was meant to happen from the 23rd-25th at the NRG Center in Houston, Texas. However, according to those who had purchased tickets in advance, the event was a complete no-show and after turning up at the NRG center, fans were shocked to see that the Comic Con was nowhere in sight.
One resident even double-checked that the event hadn’t been moved to the Galleria Mall instead, yet once again they left disappointed and out of pocket. Unsurprisingly, the whole affair was branded a ‘scam’ and there’s further evidence that this went beyond negligence.
This event promised ‘artists, writers, creators, vendors, exhibitors, and celebrities’ – and offered a typical Comic Con style event where geeks and nerds could embrace comic book culture.
The reason for this is that the same event owner currently owes the City of San Antonio over $170,000 for a previous issue from a similar event in the state. Not only this, but many Houstonians vented their rage and disappointment on the official Facebook account for the event. Since then however, negative comments have been suspiciously removed.
Despite the disappointment, customers have been urged to try and get their money back. One way is by complaining to the Texas state or by filing a chargeback with your credit card company. Aside from this, it’s not all bad news – as the ComicPalooza is a yearly event in Houston with a reliable reputation that fans can attend instead.
