“How didn’t he crash?” – Dashcam shows INSANE driver in Clermont

June 28, 2023 by 3 Comments

Footage recently recorded in Clermont showed just how crazy some of the drivers around there can be. Here, the video shows a car almost crash into the driver whose dashcam was filming. This is because the culprits car suddenly decided to pull out into the road. What was even stupider was that the car with the dashcam was clearly visible and they didn’t need to pull out.

Furthermore, this caused the driver to swerve and temporarily enter the oncoming traffic lane. Had a car been driving in the opposite direction, then it could have ended in tragedy. Thankfully though, nothing came of it and everyone was ok. The incident can be seen below, around the 10 second mark.

Speaking on social media, one Clermont resident commented, “We need a complete shutdown of drivers licenses in Cincinnati until we figure out what the hell is going on. I’m half joking but on a serious level, I as a pedestrian nearly get hit on Hamilton and Ludlow on a weekly basis and I’m so tired of it. I never jaywalk, but cars turn right on red without stopping while I’m in the crosswalk.”

With this said, it does seem like the Clermont reputation of dodgy driving is truly deserved at times. If nothing else, this story also serves of a reminder that driving with a dashcam can be a great idea when dealing with crazy people on the roads.

People in Clermont drive like that because law enforcement isn’t doing anything about it. They only do something after it’s too late and have to work the wreck. I sent an email to the Clermont P.D. captain in charge of their Traffic Enforcement Unit and never got a response. But I know where the officers hide.

May 23rd 2023, both of my parents were killed in Clermont from a red light runner. Just pay attention when you get behind the wheel.

The Claremont Troop of FHP is only interested in low hanging fruit. Tag violations, move-over entrapment, ect. Correct Edward Rodriguez? This state should do way with the FHP and give their budgets to local municipalities. 15 SUVs for Commercial vehicle checks lined up on the Florida Turnpike instead of aggressive driving enforcement?
