Friday lunchtime saw a huge emergency services presence at the Bellmore Train Station in Long Island, which also showed a stationary train in the background. Here, there were various ambulances, fire trucks, police cars, and other vehicles on the scene. In fact, even a helicopter was present which shows the serious nature of what had gone on.

According to a Long Island tipster, this was because someone had been hit by the train. As a result, the emergency crew was dispatched to find the body. This would have been more difficult to do compared to certain other train routes due to the amount of foliage surrounding the tracks.

As seen above, even unmarked cars were on the scene, which indicates that something serious had happened. One insider on the popular website Reddit, even claimed, “I work for the RR and you most likely won’t hear any information about it. People get hit every couple of weeks and you never hear about it.” It should be noted that this statement is baseless and without merit – but it does perhaps shine a light on the number of train incidents that occur and go unnoticed in the media.

As for this particular incident, we can only hope that if someone was hit by the train, then hopefully they will be ok. It goes without saying that getting hit by a train doesn’t bode well for the victim and has a high chance of being fatal.
