HUGE Fire spotted on Pre’s Rock

Last night, someone filmed a massive fire on Pre’s Rock while driving past. This showed the Eugene fire department hard at work when as they attempted to put out the huge blaze. Although this isn’t confirmed, many locals claimed that this could have been due to the July 4th celebrations, which saw a masse of fireworks let off around the city.

Irrespective of whether fireworks did cause this inferno, one local had this chilling warning that things could get a whole lot worse: “Anybody who has spent any time across the river at Alton Baker park should find that terrifying. So much uncut dead grass and the high winds could have exploded into a firestorm across the area. We have late August-like conditions there already.”

Thankfully the fire crew managed to contain and douse the flames before they spread. However, if this had happened in the dead of night, then it could have easily spread and turned into something far more serious.

This shows that nature is not to be messed with – and also highlights the (possible) reasoning for firework safety. While it’s fun to watch fireworks displays and let them off, it’s not fun to aimlessly let them loose in potentially dangerous areas – which unfortunately was quite a common sight in Eugene over the past few days.

Do people not care that they could possibly serve time in jail for having illegal fireworks, people saying it was not caused by fireworks I say bullshit you can not deny that it happened on the same day that everyone letting them off.
