HUGE line emerges for Andagi – But is it worth it?
This weekend saw one of the longest lines that you’re ever likely to see in Hawaii. And, in true Hawaiian style this was a queue for andagi. This took place at the Mo’ili’ili summer festival and the line was literally hundreds of people deep. Let’s hope this andagi was worth it. According to some who drove past, you could also see this line from afar which shows just how impressive (or stupid), the line truly was.
This summer festival promised ‘food, shopping, and more’ and it certainly delivered on that front. It also makes you wonder just how much money the event organizers made, as well as the andagi sellers – who undoubtedly walked away with a small fortune.
Now, you may think that this line would die down at one point. However, according to one local who visited, it didn’t. Speaking on social media, this Hawaiian said: “I just left. It was packed this year. As someone who is allergic to waiting in line, I did the only logical thing, and went to Rock Bottom bar for a few pints haha. I was hoping the Andagi line would ie down towards the end, but it was still 100 people deep.”
This seemingly happens every year without change – and people lose their minds and happily queue for some hours. In fairness, you could argue that the andagi is worth it – so, until next time we’ll see you again next year for the same article!
