Infamous Wienermobile spotted in Portland

May 9, 2023 by 1 Comment

The start of the working week saw a welcome arrival that was spotted in the Portland area. This came in the form of the Wienermobile! As seen by the license plate though, this vehicle was only making a pit-stop though, as it is normally sighted in California. Nonetheless, locals were still pleased to see a rare sighting in their neighborhood. Specifically, this picture was taken in the Bob’s Red Mill area of the city.

For those wondering, the Wienermobile is a portable advert that is used to promote the Oscar Mayer company around the USA. This has been driven around various states for decades, and it just so happened that it was Portland’s turn to get in on the promotional tour. Interestingly, the first Wienermobile was created back in the 1930s, and the tradition has been going strong ever since. Typcially, the Wienermobile visits Portland a couple of times per year, but only stays in Oregon for a few days at a time (on average).

Whilst the Wienermobile may still be active in Portland, it’s current whereabouts are not known. However, if you keep your eyes peeled you may be lucky enough to see it again. Anyone for a hot dog?
