St. Patrick’s day may now be officially over but there is one photo that stands out above all when it comes to the spirit of what the day represents. Although Chicago may have its iconic green river – but we have the Portland St. Patrick’s day Darth Vader!

Yes, you heard that right. This bizarre photo showed a snap of someone riding a unicycle (impressively without using hands I may add) whilst cycling away from the Old Town Portland logo. Here, they were dressed as a leprechaun whilst holding a pot of gold in one hand, and bagpipes in the other.

To add to the insanity of the photo, the bagpipes looked to be blowing out flames, whilst the anonymous cyclist also wore a green Darth Vader helmet. As if that wasn’t enough, even the traffic lights were on green which sums it up.

Understandably, not everyone had to take it this far to get into the spirit of things. Instead, many Portland natives would have spent the day at a number of Irish pubs or celebrating with their loved ones.
