Yesterday, a shirtless man was photographed climbing the I-40 overpass with no safety equipment. So, if you were driving on this route and happened to see this strange sight, then you weren’t dreaming and yes – it did actually happen.

As seen, the climber looked fairly experienced and had already climbed a fair amount of the wall. Remember, these bricks have tiny ledges, so it’s not like a rock climbing wall with easy grips – which is why we believe the man was trained. It is not sure whether he kept moving toward the right to prolong the climb, but if he did then it would have gotten pretty high (and dangerous) after a certain point.

For further evidence of this man’s skills, you’ll also notice his hands covered in chalk, alongside an equipment bag and specialist shoes. However, at first glance you may have assumed that he was a rogue tweaker. This was not the case though.

Asheville locals were impressed by this man’s feat and it seems as though it’s not the first time that he’s scaled urban heights, with one saying, “I drove past a man doing this in Winston-Salem maybe a year ago. I thought I was hallucinating, but now I think he just moved west.” while another even went as far to claim, “He’s kinda hot.” Elsewhere, others joked that his route was faster than taking the bus – which may have actually been true depending on how quickly he finished his climb.
