Is this the WORST pothole ‘repair’ that Indianapolis has ever seen?
Today, an Indianapolis resident photographed what is possibly the worst-ever pothole repair in the city. This showed a batch of concrete aimlessly poured onto the previous hole – and while this did cover the crater, it also wasn’t smooth and looked incredibly rushed.
Unsurprisingly, someone had spraypainted an arrow pointing toward the pothole which said ‘Bull’ next to it, saying exactly what they thought of the repair job. In fairness, it is not known whether this job was completed by city professionals or whether it was a rogue local who had had enough of the pothole. Having said this, if it was actually done by paid professionals then obviously – this job is nowhere near acceptable – especially if it was paid for by tax dollars.
Although it’s better than nothing – the edges are far from smooth and ironically could even damage tires if you went over them quickly enough. This was photographed on Uptown Dr which is suspiciously close to a Home Depot store. This gives evidence that it may have been done by an individual.
On social media, Indy residents voiced their displeasure, with one writing, “Fix once, get paid once. Fix every 6 months, get paid every 6 months.” while others accused the city of a short-term ‘bandaid‘ policy that didn’t offer real fixes to the growing number of potholes.
With this in mind, irrespective of who filled the pothole, it isn’t a good look for the city council and shows a growing problem with the roads of Indianapolis.
Has done asphalt for almost 40 some years and he would be absolutely disgusted with that job and he’s even been a foreman here recently and just got fed up with how people wanted to do the quality of work that they were doing so with that said maybe it’s not just Indianapolis but it’s also the people that are supposed to be doing the work and I understand the doing asphalt is a hot and stretcherous job and I do feel for each and every person that gets out there every day and does it cuz I know my husband does it every day and some days he’s just so whooped from the heat it’s unreal so in some aspect take hard in your road workers because they do work hard but also for this amateur and I do mean amateur job it had to be somebody feeling it cuz I swear it looks like sand sand but anyway I hope that Indianapolis will see that it gets taken care of
Terrible but at least yours was filled. I put in a request for two huge potholes on my street and they still haven’t filled them. In front of my house it looks like about a 12 ft. x 12 ft sink hole starting. When a car hits it my home alarm and camera goes off to alert me! One is down the street right in front of a driveway. They keep putting rocks in it to try to fill it. It was full of water and my son hit it not knowing that it was that deep. He said he almost lost control of his truck. I drove through the rest of my area and the streets actually are way worse than mine! Unacceptable. I pay enormous taxes for what?
