Locals excited as two new restaurants opening in Tucson
Tucson looks to be welcoming two new restaurants to the city in the coming weeks. These are First Watch and Chop Shop which are coming to Campbell & Glenn. As seen in the image below, the Chop Shop logo has already appeared, which means that its opening is imminent.
For those wondering, First Watch will be replacing the previous site that was owned by Pizza Hut, whereas Chop Shop is in a newly built area. Overall, it will be interesting to see if First Watch can survive longer than Pizza Hut did – and this will depend on Tucson’s love of waffles, bacon, and eggs.
While these aren’t independent restaurants and aren’t that exciting, it’s still nice to have new eateries in the city rather than dormant spaces. This was generally welcomed as a positive by Tucson locals but not everyone was as excited, with one resident ironically claiming, “Oh good. A national chain. I will certainly head down there at my earliest convenience to try that.” Elsewhere, others claimed that the city was morphing into Phoenix due to the similar number of chain stores operating here.
As mentioned however, new restaurants are never a bad thing and if anything else, it’s good for the local economy. As well, if anywhere can thrive, it’s this area which seems to be a good place for restaurants and is quickly developing a reputation in Tucson as a good place to visit for a bite to eat.
