Locals name their favorite quirks of living in El Paso
Recently, locals took to social media to discuss their favorite parts of living in El Paso. Whilst El Paso may not get as much recognition as certain other Texan states, you still can’t deny that it’s a pretty awesome city.
Like all cities though, some things are pretty unique to El Paso and its culture. So, here are what people love the most about El Paso.
Firstly, a lot of people agreed that it was cool that many people in the city spoke Spanish. In life, it’s good culturally to speak other languages, as well as for the neural paths for your brain. As a result, you could argue that El Paso residents are smarter than your average American!
Similarly, a lot of people mentioned the vibe of the place. The term often used was ‘small town mentality, in a big city’. Often, big cities can be seen as dirty and lacking a personal touch. However, they still have certain benefits such as transportation links, restaurants and stuff to do. Thankfully, El Paso has the best of both worlds. The people are friendly and approachable as you’d expect from a small town, whilst the city is also large enough to keep you entertained.
On a similar note, many people also spoke of the natural beauty. El Paso has three national parks and two national forests within a two hour drive, as well as a mountain range in the city. Also, nearby spots like Hueco Tanks are a bonus.
Undeniably, El Paso has a lot of natural beauty
Lastly, others also spoke about the cost of living. Like all US cities, this has risen in recent times. However, it’s also true that it hasn’t spiraled out of control like it has elsewhere. Furthermore, when compared to other US cities, El Paso is still relatively cheaper when it comes to wages and expenses.
In other words, El Paso rocks and is arguably Texas’s most underrated gem when it terms to living and having a good time!
