Loud N Lit Bike Party lights up Portland – But not everyone is happy
Last night saw Portland’s Loud N Lit bike party return which saw thousands of cyclists take to the streets at night. Here, they dressed in bright colors and had LED lights on their bikes. As a result, it was a nice display of color within the community and showed what Portland spirit was all about.
For the most part, it was enjoyed by the majority. However, it still didn’t stop a few people from complaining. On social media, one person wrote, “Been to a bunch of rides, the big ones are so crowded, it’s stressful with people don’t know how to ride.” Another PDX local also had this to say, “I went to this last year and got rear-ended by some dude so wasted he had no business being on a bike. It was a sign that this ride jumped the shark.” It seems that cynicism has spread in the city.
Having said this, the event was certainly enjoyed by the vast majority and in the big scheme of things, can be deemed a big success. Although Portland sometimes gets a bad rep for certain parts of its culture, you can’t deny that stuff like this is what makes it special.
