Memphis cops SHAMELESSLY seen street racing on I-40 to the shock of locals

Yesterday, a Reddit user uploaded a shameless clip of two MPD cops street racing on I-40 where they sped past pedestrians. The savvy user also pointed out that LEO is only exempt from traffic laws when running code 3 – which was seemingly not the case here.

As seen by their dashcam footage, the driver was going at 63 MPH, which means the two cops who overtook them were going much faster – which occurred at 8.10PM. What’s even more shocking is that at the 5 second mark, the one car even flashes their light bar scene light to temporarily blind the other cop car and give them a competitive advantage while racing.

MPD having their own street race last night on I-40. LEO is only exempt from traffic laws when running code 3, not when wanting to race their buddy and endanger those around them. Does this department have any integrity?

Unsurprisingly, Memphis residents were quick to condemn this dangerous driving – with one writing, “When authority is corrupt, they cease being seen as authority.” Elsewhere, another local wrote, “Wasn’t there a cop that got caught going like 114 MPH or something in Memphis and killed someone? They don’t care about protecting and serving. It’s an abuse of power.”

Even if these cops were going to investigate a crime, then they should still have carried out the correct procedures in the name of public safety. It goes without saying that their actions were incredibly dangerous and could have easily caused a bad crash. It would also be interesting if there was an explanation for this – but we shall wait and see.

    I live in Memphis. I was born and raised here. Corruption is all the police here stand for. They have no authority. We taxpayers pay them for this?! Yes everyday.

      Car breaks down got to walk.probanly not likely to be everyday.
