My Delicious Frankenburger Recipe

In recent years, the term ‘Frankenburger’ has taken off a little. This is because it’s based on the idea of Frankenstein’s Monster, whereby the burger is an amalgamation of various ingredients. Before continuing, I should add that this is my take on the Frankenburger. Basically, you will see a lot of these kinds of burgers online and in certain burger joints which go too far (in my opinion).

For instance, you will see a burger stuffed with practically every ingredient going, with a load of melted cheese dripping from the pattie which is almost bursting wide open due to the sheer number of calories stuffed into it. Whilst this is the ideal burger for many – it’s simply not for me. So, even though my Frankenburger is delicious and is still alive with various ingredients – it isn’t that wild in the big scheme of things.

As seen, it certainly looks the part but is still not as unhealthy as a typical Frankenburger that is shop-bought.

A typical Frankenburger contains a beef patty, cheese, bacon, and various toppings, which can add up to a substantial amount of calories, saturated fat, and sodium. Consuming a diet that is high in these nutrients can increase your risk of health problems such as heart disease, high blood pressure, and obesity.

However, if consumed in moderation and balanced with a healthy and balanced diet, Frankenburgers can be a tasty and occasional treat. Additionally, you can make healthier choices when it comes to ingredients and toppings, such as using leaner cuts of meat, low-fat cheese, and fresh vegetables.

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices of bacon
  • 4 slices of cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • Lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mustard, or other toppings of your choice

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty.
  3. Cook the bacon in a pan over medium heat until crispy. Remove from heat and set aside.
  4. Heat a grill or a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Place the patties on the grill or in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until fully cooked to your desired doneness.
  6. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheese on each patty and let it melt.
  7. Toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in the pan until golden brown.
  8. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom of each bun, followed by a piece of bacon, lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mustard, or any other toppings of your choice.
  9. Serve the Frankenburgers immediately and enjoy!

This recipe is a fun twist on a classic hamburger, and it’s sure to be a hit with your friends and family. Of course, you can also add or adjust ingredients to suit your personal taste.
