This week finally sees the return of NASCAR to Portland! It’s been a while, but NASCAR Xfinity will soon be upon us. So, you can expect plenty of fast cars and excitement on the PDX city streets. The irony isn’t lost on us though – seeing as Portland traffic can be pretty slow at times, yet these cars can reach speeds over 200MPH!

The event will take place on June 2-3, 2023, at Portland International Raceway so fear not, pedestrian roads won’t be touched. It’s also set to have live music and other entertainment across the two-day affair.

Typically, NASCAR Xfinity uses 36 cars on the track and takes place over 300 miles. With this said your typical race tends to last for around 5 hours. In other words, for local NASCAR fans, you can expect 10 hours of race time over the weekend. Put another way, this is race car heaven for petrolheads!

As seen above, the Portland International Raceway track has been used for years and features a pretty sharp bend towards the north of the track. For those wondering, this won’t be the last rally of the month, as Formula E is also coming to Portland on the 24th and will take place on the same track.
