New Indy Restaurant Vicino gets 1 Star Review – But was it justified?
Vicino has been open in Indianapolis for a few months now and has received a mostly positive reception from locals. Looking at its Google review score, it has scored 4.6/5 which means that it offers a very positive dining experience for the most part. In short, this eatery offers modern Italian cuisine and as always, nice restaurants are always welcomed by the city.
However, one of the recent reviews gave it a 1 star (the lowest rating). And, after reading the justification for this score, it seems pretty harsh. Having said this, Indianapolis locals have been debating whether it was justified or whether it was overly harsh.
The above review was left by ‘Andrew’, who is described as a ‘Local guide’. Here, Andrew gave the lowest score and his review reads, “Great food but I would not recommend dining on the patio, unless you want to be harassed by the homeless during your meal.”
Understandably, this is something that may be off-putting at any restaurant. Even if you’re eating the best food in the world, you don’t want to be harassed whilst trying to enjoy your food. Obviously though, this isn’t the fault of the restaurant either – and they can control only so much. Furthermore, the fact that Andrew wrote ‘Great food’ is even more confusing.
This brings us to the key point – whether a restaurant is responsible for the overall dining experience or not. Although food is a big indicator of how nice an experience is, it’s not the only thing. Of course, if the homeless man wasn’t technically on their property then they can’t do a whole lot. In general, many locals had empathy with Andrew’s point – however, they also agreed that he went too far and that it was very harsh on Vicino who can only do so much.
