Today, a Philadelphia driver was shamed for what was described as “The most selfish double parking I’ve ever seen.” Here, they were seen double parking in the middle of the street in Brewertytown. Such was the lack of spacial awareness, others even commented that this went beyond ‘double parking’ and was truly something even worse. As seen in the image below, there was easily enough space to park normally, without even having to parallel park as well.

According to one local, they claimed “People say South Philly has the worst parkers, but at least they have a lot of cars. Brewerytown is infuriating because this kind of stuff isn’t even necessary; there are spaces everywhere, but people just won’t be inconvenienced.” whilst another mentioned, “Ah the classic double parking next to a spot big enough for a septa bus”

For those wondering, this picture was taken on 1200 block of N Taney Street which is infamous for bad parking. Often, cars will causally park on the sidewalk here – so there seems to be a culture of reckless parking. It goes without saying that this can cause hassle for other drivers, as it narrows down the road and makes things tighter than necessary. What’s even stranger is that this is a very nice, expensive car – which could potentially get clipped by another car or scratched by angering someone.
