Popular Anchorage Restaurant announces closure

July 9, 2023 by 1 Comment

A popular Anchorage restaurant has announced its imminent closure. A couple of days ago, the much loved MVP Sports Deli eatery updated its website whereby it claimed to be closing its doors for the last time on August 12th at 3 PM. This came as a shock to locals as it has been a staple of the community for over 10 years and did some of the best subs in the area.

The update read: “MVP will be closing its doors for early retirement at 3 PM on Saturday 12, 2023. It has been an honor to have served each of you throughout the last 10 years. Thank you for choosing MVP to be part of your dining experience and providing us the privilege to share our unique homemade recipes with you here in Anchorage, Alaska. So long friends, you will be dearly missed. Kevin and Genna.”

Speaking online, fans of the joint aired their thoughts – with one claiming: “Oh man. I’m going to have to make a few extra trips down to Anchorage before then. Awesome pastrami, I’m going to miss them.” while another added: “Wow man, these had the best subs in town, easily.”

As seen – this won’t be easy to replace and will certainly leave a hole in the heart of Anchorage locals. On the bright side, if you’re a fan then you’ve still got roughly one month to show your support.
