PSU Election Winners Announced – However, locals are NOT happy with one employee
A few days ago, the winner of the PSU student elections was revealed and this was announced on their website. This included 7 new Student Fee Committee members, 11 new student Senators and a new President and Vice President respectively. These were Yousif Ibrahim (President) and (Ahmad Alyajouri) Vice President.
However, it wasn’t so much the announcement that people cared about. Instead, it was one particular employee. To be more precise, they weren’t happy with Chrissa Mae Kalal, who is still a member of staff at the university.
Earlier this month, Kalal made headlines for the wrong reasons, after they were accused of stealing the phone of a protestor on the university grounds. Not only this, but Kalal also showed signs of aggressive behavior which wasn’t really befitting for a geography professor. Kalal, a known transgender activist has still remained in their role on campus…however locals weren’t happy.
As ever with Portland University and politics, it seems as though the culture war continues to rage on which is sad as it kind of overshadows the success of the newly elected President and others.
