Seattle Fire Department Investigates Blaze at West Seattle Church
Seattle, WA — The Seattle Fire Department is currently investigating the cause of a fire that broke out at a West Seattle church on Monday afternoon.
The fire, which was reported shortly after 12:30 p.m., involved a detached building near the Full Gospel Pentecostal Federated Church, located near Delridge Way Southwest and Southwest Brandon Street. According to a statement released by the department on X (formerly Twitter), no one was inside the church buildings at the time, and no injuries have been reported.
Upon arrival, firefighters were met with thick smoke billowing into the sky and flames spreading from the detached structure to the main church building and a neighboring property. During the firefighting efforts, the roof of the detached building collapsed. Despite the challenges, crews managed to bring the blaze under control by approximately 1 p.m.
The investigation into the fire’s origin is ongoing as the community awaits further updates from fire officials.
