Sign claims to X-Ray passing cars in Washington
Over the past few months, a strange sign has been situated between traffic on New York Ave NW in Washington. Passersby haven’t paid the sign too much attention as this would be difficult to do while in moving traffic. However, recently someone went up close and got a photo that shows exactly what it says.
In a bizarre twist, the speech on the sign leaves us with more questions than answers and reads, “All vehicles are subject to inspection using low-level X-Rays, within the health and safety limits allowable for members of the public. If you do not wish to want to remain in your vehicle during a low-level X-Ray scan, you MUST notify a CBP official.” Beneath this text, the message was also repeated in Spanish.
Obviously, the message of the sign is invasive, to say the least and overall, it’s pretty strange. According to some local theorists, this could have been a sign that was accidentally left over from the Africa Leaders Summit late last year. However, there is nothing online suggesting that X-Rays were used during this summit.
Furthermore, it doesn’t sound legal for people’s cars to be randomly X-Ray’s, nor does it even sound like a practical thing to carry out. As a result, there’s not much information on this sign and it’s well worthy of its strange status. Unfortunately, this one remains unsolved for now and it may just be some kind of odd prank. If you have any information regarding the sign and its relevance then let us know in the comments.
