Spiderman spotted across Anchorage – but have YOU seen him?
Yesterday saw a bizarre photograph that featured a man dressed up as Spiderman. Here, Spiderman was seen talking to a woman in a parking lot on W Dimond Blvd outside of Fred Myer. As if this wasn’t already strange enough, he was also riding a unicycle, while simultaneously wearing bright orange crocks. In fairness to Spidey though, he did have a safety helmet – which was more than what can be said for his female companion (perhaps it was Mary Jane?)
It’s not every day that you get to see Spiderman in Anchorage, and this got locals asking what he was doing so far away from his home city, as Spiderman is famously a resident of New York City. As seen below, he seemed happy enough though.
It turns out that this wasn’t the first Spiderman sighting in the city either. One local responded to this picture by saying, “I don’t know if it’s the same guy, but there was one in a Miles Morales Spiderman costume in Costco the other day.” Obviously, this is a different costume but it could well be the same person in a different outfit.
Based on this, it also seems that this particular Spiderman has a penchant for DIY and warehouse stores. Maybe he is more Alaskan than New York-centric after all? On a final note, this guy seemed to brighten up a few people’s day which is nice to see. However, he may not be able to pull the look off in a few months when the Alaskan winter comes into town.
We saw Spiderman downtown last year, near the corner of 4th & G Streets. We have photos of him that he posed for.
