Supercomputer Chooses The Best Portland Trailblazers Team Of All Time
Artificial intelligence has caused a lot of division, mostly in terms of its future implications rather than its textual output. Of course this is just for fun, as everyone in Portland will likely pick different players for different reasons.
Picking a greatest sports team is somewhat difficult as everyone differs in opinion. However, the super computer was able to put together a team of the best Portland Trailblazers since 1970 and create the greatest team ever, as well as an analysis of why each player was chosen.
Here are the results:
Point Guard: Damian Lillard (Current)
Shooting Guard: Clyde Drexler (Historical)
Small Forward: Scottie Pippen (Historical)
Power Forward: LaMarcus Aldridge (Historical)
Center: Bill Walton (Historical)
Bench Players:
Point Guard: Terry Porter (Historical)
Shooting Guard: Brandon Roy (Historical)
Small Forward: Jerome Kersey (Historical)

This lineup combines some of the greatest players in Trail Blazers history, both current and historical, to create a well-rounded team. Damian Lillard brings his elite scoring and playmaking ability, while Clyde Drexler provides another scoring threat and excellent perimeter defense. Scottie Pippen adds versatility and lockdown defense at the small forward position.
LaMarcus Aldridge brings his scoring and rebounding skills, and Bill Walton, although injury-plagued, is considered one of the greatest centers in franchise history with his shot-blocking and playmaking abilities.
Off the bench, Terry Porter provides steady point guard play, and Brandon Roy adds scoring and leadership. Jerome Kersey is known for his athleticism and defensive prowess, while Maurice Lucas adds toughness and rebounding. Arvydas Sabonis, despite joining the team later in his career, brings his exceptional passing and basketball IQ to the center position.
This team combines scoring, defense, leadership, and versatility to form the greatest Trail Blazers team of all time.
For the greatest Trail Blazers team of all time, the ideal coach would be Dr Jack Ramsay. Ramsay was the head coach of the Portland Trail Blazers from 1976 to 1986 and led the team to their only NBA championship in 1977. He is highly regarded for his strategic acumen, emphasis on team play, and ability to get the best out of his players.
Ramsay’s coaching philosophy focused on disciplined defense, ball movement, and an unselfish playing style, which would complement the strengths of the selected players. His ability to develop team chemistry and make tactical adjustments during games would be invaluable in maximizing the potential of this star-studded lineup.
Under Ramsay’s guidance, the team would benefit from his expertise and experience, ensuring a cohesive and successful unit on the court.
Do you think this is reasonable, or is there anything you would change?
