The Most Famous Celebrity Chefs in Portland Oregon
Portland, Oregon, has a thriving food scene and has produced many talented chefs over the years. Sadly, I can’t really include myself on that list anyway. Nonetheless, you may have noticed that I still have a huge passion for cooking and all things food related.
In this article I shall be listing my top 5 famous chefs in the PDX area (in no specific order) – these guys are all technicians of their craft and know how to cook a thing or two, as well as owning some of the finest restaurants in Portland. It goes without saying that their restaurants are brilliant as well which is where they earned their elite status.
Here are some of the best chefs to come from Portland:
- Gabriel Rucker: Chef and owner of Le Pigeon, a farm-to-table restaurant that is known for its innovative cuisine and has received national recognition. This is widely regarded as one of the best restaurants in the city.
- Andy Ricker: Chef and owner of Pok Pok, a popular Thai restaurant that has expanded to several locations and is known for its authentic street food-style dishes. If you like Thai foodtruck style food, you’ll love Pok Pok.
- Vitaly Paley: Chef and owner of Paley’s Place, a classic French bistro that is known for its seasonal and locally-sourced ingredients.
- Jenn Louis: Chef and owner of Lincoln Restaurant, known for her approachable and creative cuisine that focuses on seasonal ingredients.
- Cathy Whims: Chef and owner of Nostrana, a traditional Italian restaurant that is known for its wood-fired pizzas and handmade pasta. In my opinion, this is the best pizza joint in the whole of Portland.

The city continues to attract new talent and remains a hub for innovative and delicious cuisine.
