The STRANGE Modesto shop has been described as ‘A Front’ – But what is it?

It takes a certain type of shop to be openly described as a ‘front‘. However, this is the case for this particular shop in Modesto that has locals confused about what its actual purpose is. Just looking at this place from the outside, and you can see exactly why people are curious as it doesn’t exactly look professional or particularly welcoming.

Firstly, its sign isn’t even aligned properly, while the other sign above the door is even more baffling. This is because it reads, “T Gift & Toyes & More…” – That’s not our spelling error either, it has literally spelt toys wrong.

Strangely, this shop is also rarely ever open (despite the signage saying otherwise) and it doesn’t even have any traces online. Now you can see why people are skeptical about its true intentions. However, one resident claimed, “If I’m not mistaken, it used to be an abandoned liquor store. It was restored and now it’s named “T & Sons Sunrise Market”. The address is 1348 Sunrise Ave.” As is often the case with these venues, the information provided often brings up more questions than answers.

So, it could be that this place is genuine after all and is a mini market with bad grammar. If you have been there or have any stories of the place then please let us know.

Maybe the owner is dyslexic, and has a phobia of small stores which is why it’s rarely ever open.

I’ve been there when it was sunrise market but never seen it as is now. It could be a front it has a been through a lot of shady owners.

It was a smoke shop I went in there several times when it was open

It is a ligit gift shop. It was a garage that the smoke shop owners have tried to take an empty space and turn it into something productive. The wife makes gift baskets and holiday wreath’s. I personally have my Tie-Dye thatbis all hand made by me available for sale as well. Along with Holiday wreath’s and Charm Lockets. It is not open regular buisness hours due to staffing issues. Hopefully that will change soon and it will be open with regular store hours.
