This is because Portland has lots of history with haunted locations, ghosts, hauntings, and similar paranormal phenomena. Thinking about it, this isn’t too surprising either – the reason for this is that Portland has lots of rich history – which can sometimes be pretty gruesome as well!

There are several haunted places in Portland, Oregon that are rumored to be haunted. Here are a few of the most famous ones:

1. Shanghai Tunnels – Located under the streets of Old Town, the Shanghai Tunnels were once used to smuggle sailors onto ships bound for Asia. It is said that the tunnels are haunted by the spirits of sailors who were trapped and never made it out. Location: 120 NW 3rd Ave, Portland, OR 97209
2. The White Eagle Café and Saloon – The White Eagle Café and Saloon is said to be haunted by the ghost of a former owner who died in the building. For the record, the food is pretty good as well, and as you’d expect the atmosphere isn’t bad either! Location: 836 N Russell St, Portland, OR 97227
3. The Oregon Pioneer Cemetery – The Oregon Pioneer Cemetery is one of the oldest cemeteries in Portland which was built in 1872 and is said to be haunted by the spirits of pioneers who were buried there. Location: Commercial St SE & Hoyt St SE, Salem, OR 97302
4. The Hollywood Theatre – The Hollywood Theatre is said to be haunted by the ghost of a former projectionist who died in the building who has been sighted over the years. Personally, I think the idea of a haunted theatre is pretty cool! Location: 4122 NE Sandy Blvd, OR
5. The Heathman Hotel – The Heathman Hotel is said to be haunted by the ghost of a former hotel guest who died in the building. Location: 1001 SW Broadway, Portland, OR 97205
