Undoubtedly, Portland Oregon is a quirky city. As a result of this, you could argue that it oozes creativity and unsurprisingly then, a number of its residents have gone on to achieve huge success, in fields such as arts, entertainment, and business.
Because of this, we decided to compile a list of the most famous Portland residents to come from the city. Whilst some may be obvious and well-known, other inclusions may surprise you!
Kaitlin Olson
Kaitlin Olson is an American actress and comedian known for her roles in television comedies. She was born on August 18, 1975, in Portland, Oregon. Olson gained significant recognition for her portrayal of Deandra “Sweet Dee” Reynolds in the long-running FX sitcom “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” which has been on the air since 2005. Her character on the show is known for her self-centeredness and questionable decision-making, often leading to hilarious and absurd situations. Matt Groening

Phil Knight
Phil Knight is an American businessman and the co-founder of Nike, Inc., one of the world’s largest and most recognizable athletic apparel and footwear companies. He was born on February 24, 1938, in Portland, Oregon.
Knight and his former track coach, Bill Bowerman, co-founded Blue Ribbon Sports in 1964, which later became Nike in 1971. Initially operating as a distributor for Japanese athletic shoe company Onitsuka Tiger, Knight and Bowerman eventually transitioned to designing and manufacturing their own shoes under the Nike brand.
